for Surgikill at the Art Theatre of Long Beach on Thursday, February 17^th!

On Thursday, February 17^th, Artful Thinking Organization kicks off their second year and is proud to present the world premiere DVD Release Party for SURGIKILL at the Art Theatre of Long Beach, CA.      .

Marking Surgikill's 21^st birthday and what would have been Director Andy Milligan's 82^nd birthday, the DVD party will rock with Surgikill on the screen, live Q&A and plenty of complimentary food and drink.

Born on February 12, 1929 in St. Paul, Minnesota, Andy Milligan was a prolific movie maker. Throughout his controversial life he made nearly 30 low budget films from 1965 - 1990. His sense of humor, horror and movie making style was unique and it exploded the sexploitation genre to a whole new level incorporating much of his real life experiences into his films.  The "Mulligan touch" as it was called, referred to his use of unusual themes and caricatures.

Surgikill is a campy film about a masked killer that is killing off doctors, nurses, and patients at a poorly run Los Angeles hospital that is scheduled to be closed.  Surgikill was Andy's last film before he succumbed to AIDS in 1991 at the young age of 62.

On hand for live Q&A hosted by Denise Penn on the 17^th are Bouvier the Cult Film Goddess, Doug Eames and Sherman Hirsh. Bouvier starred as Dr. Grace Goode in Surgikill and she starred in another of Milligan's films, Monstrosity, in 1989. Doug Eames starred as Dr. Albert Schweitzer in Surgikill and Sherman Hirsh was the original Surgikill writer.
